Chrissy has been printmaking for over twenty five years and produces contemporary etchings using traditional techniques. She also experiments with monotypes, collagraphs and carborundum prints when looking for larger, less detailed work.
Her inspiration comes from the natural world and everyday life. She looks for patterns in the landscape defined by light, shadows and season often cropping an image to provide negative shapes.
Chrissy is particularly known for her coloured etchings and aquatints where different coloured inks meet on one plate to give a blended effect. Each etching is hand inked and printed on her etching press – nothing is added to them after printing.
Her work has been purchased for the collections of The Palace of Westminster and also Colchester & Ipswich Museums. She has exhibited with The Royal Society of Printmakers and at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. She also exhibits in galleries in Norfolk and Suffolk often exhibiting with the printmaking group Sudbourne Park Printmakers and is a regular etching tutor at the courses held there.
